I am a young film and broadcast graduate from The Cass school of Art, Architecture, and Design where I studied Film and Broadcast production for 3 years. I am a passionate film maker with an eye for detail and art design. Throughout the three years at university I helped make a number of short fiction films with creative collection ‘Last Place Pictures’ to which I am an original member. We aim to make films that stand out creatively and support minority characters mostly with a female lead. ‘The Landlady’ (2016) was the first short film I worked on, written and directed by Heidi O’Loughlin. The landlady is a multi-award nominated short film receiving a number of international short nominations including official selection at Screen One International. On this film I worked as production assistant and editor. I later went on to produce ‘Oates’ (2016) a short film set and made in Poland to which I was in charge of arranging flights, transport, filming rights, accommodation etc. The project was co funded by crowd sourcing on INDIEGOGO where we raised a total amount of £2,500. After working on these two shorts I realized my creative abilities were not being stretched and found myself working as an Art director alongside my role as producer/editor. I later took on the role as production designer on ‘IF We Be Friends’ (2017), another short fiction directed and written by stand-up comedian Heidi O’Loughlin. The film was written and made within a month and taught me to work within extreme deadlines, from having to design the film as well as the production of a midsummer night’s dream to which the film revolved around. The latest short film I have worked on is Hippocampus with ‘Last Place’ starring stand-up comedian Josie Long and is set in an underwater restaurant. I was tasked with the responsibility of creating an underwater cave fitted with restaurant fixtures. From design stage to production, the budget for this film was very limited and lacked financial support so it was my role to find more affordable options that didn’t compromise the high standard finish. At the end of the year I received an award at the Cass Summer Show 2017 for ‘Best Art Director’ with a cash prize. This is an award I am very proud of and one that represents the standard of the work I have produced over the past few years.

I currently work as a video editor for Jungle Creations, A social media company. I create video articles that are shared across their networks generating millions of views from each VA. Having worked as a waiter for 3 years I have learned the importance of customer service, attention to detail and the pressure of time management. After 2 years, I was promoted to casual supervisor where I was given responsibility of looking after functions including conference dinners, private birthdays, hen parties and other personal events. The responsibility of managing these important and personal occasions has taught me a great deal about time management and organisation of staff, ensuring all the jobs are undertaken to the standard expected from a well-respected establishment that Fanhams Hall Hotel is.
